Automatic Service Request is a feature of oracle that enables system to raise a request to Oracle automatically in case of any hardware fault. In case of hardware fault it will open an SR automatically to Oracle. It does not only improve the system availability but also simplify support operation with lesser cost and make IT staffs more focused on core business area rather than remedy jobs
For setting up this feature, only outbound secured Internet connection to oracle is required based on HTTPS and SSL.More details can be found at oracle site
